Simon Wadsworth is an Internet entrepreneur and expert in online reputation management. He is an authority on all things related to Digital Marketing, and well known for his ability to design effective and long term solutions to issues faced by organisations in today’s digital age. As a key spokesperson in the industry, Simon regularly appears in Internet and marketing press. He is currently the founder and managing director of Igniyte, a Leeds and London-based company, which has been managing the online reputation of individuals, brands and companies since 2009.
Simon Wadsworth’s career
A graduate in BSC Economics and MSC Computing from the University of Bradford, Simon Wadsworth went on to establish an award-winning internet design agency, Brand New Media, in 1994. The business advised companies on how the emerging internet market would affect traditional businesses. By 2000, the Leeds-based company had grown to 40 staff with clients including Heinz, Procter and Gamble and Tesco.
Simon sold Brand New Media to French PLC Fi System in 2000 but stayed at the company for another 18 months before leaving to set up a new agency, Swamp, which went on to become one of the most well-known digital agencies in the UK. Swamp’s portfolio included a number of internationally recognised organisations such as as Umbro, La Redoute and Best Western Hotels.
In a survey by the industry magazine ‘Revolution’, Swamp was voted by clients as the number one agency in the UK for creativity, return on investment and technical capability. In 2005, Simon was awarded the prestigious Leeds Media’s Profile Award in recognition of his part in raising the profile of Leeds as a thriving and creative centre for the media, marketing and e-business industries.
In 2006, Simon sold Swamp to Brahm (now Brass Agency), the largest independent marketing agency outside of London. He formed Igniyte, an online reputation management consultancy in 2009. Igniyte provides businesses and individuals with a range of services from review management to brand and personal reputation management.
