Simon Wadsworth’s early career
Simon Wadsworth graduated from the University of Bradford with a BSC Economics and MSC in Computing.
In 1994, he established the award-winning Internet design agency Brand New Media. It specialised in advising companies all about how the emerging Internet market would affect traditional businesses. And, by 2000, the Leeds-based agency had more than 40 employees and high-profile clients including Heinz, Procter and Gamble and Tesco.
Simon then sold Brand New Media to French PLC Fi System in 2000 and created a new agency, Swamp. This became one of the most well-known digital agencies in the UK. And Swamp’s impressive client portfolio included internationally-recognised organisations including Umbro, La Redoute and Best Western Hotels.
In a survey by industry magazine ‘Revolution’, Swamp was voted as the number one agency in the UK for creativity, return on investment and technical capability.
Then, in 2005, Simon Wadsworth was awarded the prestigious Leeds Media’s Profile Award. This recognises his contribution to raising the profile of Leeds as a thriving and creative centre for the media, marketing and e-business industries.
In 2006, Simon sold Swamp to Brahm (now Brass Agency), the largest independent marketing agency outside of London. And three years later he founded Igniyte.
